Piece of Cake 1.6 Pro — 1.7× Faster, Far Less Predictable

A great presentation AI does more than place sentences neatly inside rectangles. It should decide what deserves scale, which evidence belongs beside the claim, and where whitespace makes the message clearer.

Piece of Cake 1.5 Pro made generation significantly more reliable. But after reviewing complete decks, we found the next problem: individual slides looked polished while different ideas kept converging on similar cards and split layouts. The model had become very good at avoiding failure, but less willing to produce a surprising answer.

Piece of Cake 1.6 Pro resets that balance. Generation is now 1.7× faster, and Snapdeck’s generation harness has evolved from a rulebook that enforces safe answers into a director that searches for better compositions.

1.7× faster generation

Piece of Cake 1.6 Pro generates decks 1.7× faster than 1.5 Pro.

This improvement is about more than spending less time on a loading screen. You can review the first draft sooner, refine the content, and regenerate only the slides that need another pass. Instead of losing your train of thought while waiting, you can keep making decisions with the result in front of you.

The difference becomes most noticeable across a full deck. Showing the first title slide quickly is less important than getting the complete deck into a reviewable state. That end-to-end generation window is where 1.6 Pro makes the bigger difference.

Faster does not mean drawing the first acceptable layout. The harness still explores composition candidates and keeps only the direction that best fits the content. That decision system is now more deliberate, not less.

The product around the model: our generation harness

If the model is the engine, the harness is how that engine works inside the product. It is the complete system that reads the source, identifies the job of a slide, chooses a composition for its canvas, protects the supplied facts, and audits the final output.

We substantially rebuilt that harness for 1.6 Pro.

Composition search, not a layout menu

Data, comparison, and process slides all have safe structures that work often. Piece of Cake still benefits from those patterns, but 1.6 Pro no longer treats them like a closed list of answers.

It first identifies the decisive message and visual tension, then privately explores multiple composition directions. One figure might dominate the stage. Evidence might overlap like an editorial artifact. A topic might receive its own geometric language. It does not draw three cards simply because three cards are safe.

Density that follows the content

There is no fixed rule that every slide must be sparse—or that every empty area should be filled with another card. A slide with one sentence can use bold negative space. A source with substantial evidence can become a dense but readable board or collage.

Object count is not the goal. The goal is making the first point of attention unmistakable. The 1.6 Pro harness evaluates scale contrast, visual flow, and the relationship between a claim and its proof together.

16:9, 4:3, and 4:5 as different stages

Aspect ratio is not a crop applied at the end. It changes the composition from the beginning.

  • 16:9 explores structures built for a wide stage: asymmetric splits, overlaps, data heroes, and system maps.
  • 4:3 avoids looking like a cropped widescreen slide and rebuilds tables, diagrams, and explanations for a narrower projected canvas.
  • 4:5 social carousels are not presentation slides stretched vertically. The harness identifies the role of each card: the opening hook, proof or useful artifact in the middle, and one focused action at the end.

Changing the ratio can now change the scale of the focal object, the area reserved for the title, the location of whitespace, and the direction in which information unfolds.

More compositional freedom, stricter factual boundaries

When composition becomes more flexible, the first risk is filling open space with plausible-looking information. That is why 1.6 Pro loosens design templates while tightening the boundary around facts.

It preserves every number, direction, unit, qualifier, and relationship supplied by the user. It will not turn a 20% increase into 20 percentage points, invent a KPI that was not in the source, or add another example for visual balance. When the source is sparse, it redesigns the scale and hierarchy of the real message instead of fabricating support.

Charts and diagrams receive the same discipline. The harness reserves room for labels, checks that connectors do not cross text, protects title and source areas, and catches lower-page whitespace that looks accidental before output.

The freedom in 1.6 Pro is not the freedom to draw anything. It is the freedom to discover more visual answers inside the facts.

What changes in practice

Piece of Cake 1.6 Pro
Generation speed 1.7× faster than 1.5 Pro
Composition Searches for a content-specific structure instead of selecting a fixed layout
Deck rhythm Gives each slide a distinct job and hierarchy instead of repeating cards
Aspect ratios Directs 16:9, 4:3, and 4:5 as independent stages
Factual integrity Preserves numbers, units, qualifiers, and relationships without invented evidence
Output audit Checks text fit, collisions, connectors, safe areas, and visual balance

The first result arrives sooner, and that first result is closer to a final deck. Instead of repeatedly regenerating until a different layout appears by chance, 1.6 Pro starts by exploring a wider set of visual directions that the content can actually support.

Available now through Auto

On plans with premium AI model access, selecting Auto now routes to Piece of Cake 1.6 Pro. Existing selections saved with 1.5 Pro continue naturally with the new version.

Credit usage remains 2×, the same as 1.5 Pro. The faster generation and upgraded harness are available at the same Pro credit cost.

Try it again on a deck where the same cards kept repeating, a slide that changed ratio without changing composition, or a result with an unexplained empty lower half. This release is not about one decorative effect.

It gets to the result faster—and returns an answer that is far less predictable. That is Piece of Cake 1.6 Pro. 🍰
