Choose Beautiful.ai or Snapdeck by how you want layouts to behave

You know the moment. The meeting content is clear, but you do not want to spend the hour nudging boxes into place. You want an AI first draft — and you may already know whether the handoff is a PowerPoint file or a Figma file.

Beautiful.ai and Snapdeck both start there. A prompt or an idea becomes a presentation draft. On speed alone, they can look similar.

The split is who owns the layout while you edit, and what file leaves when you are done.

Snapdeck home prompt and Import PPTX

The draft is easy. The layout after that is not.

Beautiful.ai’s site puts Smart Slides at the center. It describes choosing from over 300 Smart Slide layouts, then having spacing, alignment, and sizing adjust as you add content. Create with AI is described as a flow where you refine an outline before generating polished slides. Themes apply brand fonts, colors, and logos. For teams, the product pages highlight locked themes and shared libraries for brand consistency.

Snapdeck’s home is built around a presentation deck. The headline reads “Build a winning deck in a snap.” Under it is a prompt box. You pick a canvas ratio of 16:9, 4:3, or 4:5, and you set the slide count with a stepper. The buttons on that screen are Web Research, Web Scrap, Import PPTX, and Auto Agent. The home model list — Auto, Piece of Cake, Gemini, GPT, and the others — chooses which model drafts the deck.

Up to here, both tools skip the blank slide. The hard scene is the one after that.

  • You need structured layouts so brand spacing does not break slide by slide.
  • You have an existing PPTX to open, or a designer waiting on a Figma file.
  • You want to look at a slide canvas and say in chat what to change.

The comparison, in one pass

No rankings. Beautiful.ai lines come from the official site, the Smart Slides page, the export help article, and the PowerPoint import help article. Snapdeck lines come from the product UI checked on 2026-09-30 and the features page. Beautiful.ai’s logged-in editor was not captured for this post. Claims about Beautiful.ai stay on public marketing and help pages.

Smart Slides hold the layout. A canvas lets you steer it.

Beautiful.ai’s Smart Slides pitch is that the layout follows the content. Purpose-built layouts cover comparisons, timelines, data, and more, and you spend less time nudging text boxes. Create with AI starts from a prompt, outline, or document, shapes the story first, then applies design. Team brand control sits near the center of the product story.

Snapdeck is a slide editor. Thumbnails sit on the left. The canvas sits in the middle. The Chat placeholder asks you to tell Snapdeck what you want, and says you can add context with @. The Design tab checked for this post exposed Slide background options such as Solid, Linear, and Circular. The screen closest to choosing a look is the template gallery at /template. Dashboard Styles also lists style sets and custom themes. An earlier team blog post says custom themes start on Pro.

The features page also says Snapdeck builds an outline and slide content from a topic, and sets presentation type with Snapdeck Sans. That is product positioning. The UI pass for this post did not dig into a separate outline-only step.

When the file has to leave

Beautiful.ai’s export help lists Editable PowerPoint, PowerPoint Images, Google Slides, PDF (and compressed PDF), Print, and the Offline Player. Editable PowerPoint and Google Slides are limited to Pro, Team, and Enterprise. PDF exports are static and do not keep animations, audio, or video. The same article says transitions and animations are lost on export to external platforms, and points to presenting from the dashboard or using a shareable link if you want those effects to stay.

Snapdeck’s export menu is titled “덱 내보내기” and lists four formats:

  • PDF (.pdf) — a fixed layout for sharing or print
  • Images (.png) — one PNG per slide
  • Figma (.fig) — a file Figma can import
  • PowerPoint (.pptx) — slides you can keep editing in PowerPoint or Keynote

Earlier posts on this blog say PPTX export and Figma (.fig) export are available on Plus and Pro. Those posts also describe the Figma file as one Frame per slide, with text, shapes, and images kept as layers where the export can carry them. Beautiful.ai’s help export list does not include Figma (.fig).

An existing PowerPoint comes into Snapdeck through Import PPTX on the home screen. After upload, the UI shows Reference and Import, with copy about importing as an editable deck. Reference uses the file as source material for a new deck. Import opens that file so you can keep editing it. Beautiful.ai’s help describes importing slides through Add Slide → Import From PPT inside a presentation. The Reference / Import split is the Snapdeck wording verified on screen.

Import PPTX with Reference and Import choices

Which one to open

Beautiful.ai fits when

  • You want Smart Slides-style structured layouts that keep spacing aligned as you edit.
  • The official Create with AI outline-first flow matches how you work.
  • You want themes and, on Team plans, locked themes for brand control.
  • Your exits are Editable PowerPoint, Google Slides, and PDF, plus in-product share links as described in their help.

Snapdeck fits when

  • The result has to be a 16:9, 4:3, or 4:5 slide canvas.
  • You want a home-prompt draft, then natural-language edits in Chat.
  • You need to use an existing PPTX as Reference, or open it with Import and keep editing.
  • The last handoff is PowerPoint, or a Figma (.fig) file for a designer.
  • You want the /template gallery or custom themes for style.

Where the scope differs

The Snapdeck screens checked for this post did not show Google Slides export, an Offline Player, or viewer analytics the way Beautiful.ai’s help and marketing describe them. Beautiful.ai’s public export help does not list Figma (.fig). Beautiful.ai is closer when layout guardrails and team brand control are the center of the job. Snapdeck is closer when the job is a slide canvas, chat revision, and a PPTX or Figma handoff.

Both drafts can look convincing. Decide whether you want the layout system to hold you, or whether you want to steer a canvas with chat. The tool follows that choice.

So

Both tools get you a first draft with AI. After that, the real difference is Smart Slides-style structure versus a slide canvas with Chat, PPTX, and Figma.

If you want slides, an existing PPT you can keep editing, and a Figma file when a designer needs it, open the home prompt or Import PPTX on Snapdeck. ☺️
